Description

Puppeteer is a JavaScript library that lets you control real browsers like Chrome and Firefox from your code, usually in headless mode (no visible window). With a few lines of Node.js, you can open pages, click buttons, type in forms, search, and even grab text from a site. It is great for web scraping, testing, and making screenshots or PDFs of pages. Puppeteer talks to the browser using the DevTools Protocol or WebDriver BiDi, so almost anything you do by hand in the browser, you can automate with code instead.

Our Expert's Opinion

[4/5]

Using Puppeteer can feel very powerful but also a bit frustrating at times. It is nice that you can control the browser, click things, and scrape data with just JavaScript, and once a script works it can save a lot of time. But setup is not always simple, the install can be heavy because it downloads a full browser, and some pages still detect that you are using automation. The API also has many options, so it is easy to get confused or break something when the website changes. Puppeteer is great if you are ready to learn it and maintain your scripts, but it is not always the easiest or fastest tool for small or one-time tasks.
