Melody Scanner is a promising app that automatically transcribes music from audio or video, offering free partial transcriptions and paid full scores. Users appreciate the concept but report issues with accuracy, especially in timing and complex music. It is helpful for quick drafts but often requires manual corrections.

Our Expert's Opinion
[4.2/5]
I tried Melody Scanner after using other music transcription apps, and it’s one of the easiest to use. I liked that I could upload an MP3 or just paste a YouTube link, and it quickly turned it into sheet music. The editor is clean, and I liked the pianoroll and tab views. But sometimes the notes were not fully correct, especially when the audio had background sounds or was a bit messy. Also, the free version feels too limited you can only record 1 minute, which isn’t enough to test it properly. Still, for simple and solo instruments like piano or flute, it works pretty well and saves a lot of time.
