I tried GoWhisper after using other transcription apps like Otter and Whisper.cpp, and I think it’s a good tool, especially because it runs fully offline and keeps your files private. The transcription is fast, and I liked that it supports many languages and exports in different formats. It’s nice that you only pay once and not every month. But the app could be a little easier to use for beginners—it takes some time to understand which model to choose, and there’s no live support if you get stuck. Also, bigger models take more time and use more computer memory. Still, for the price, it’s a solid option if you want privacy and unlimited transcription.
