Our Expert's Opinion
[4.3/5]
After using similar tools: Haystack feels like a solid builder’s toolkit for RAG and search, because it lets you connect components into flexible pipelines (even with branches and loops), so you can shape the flow the way your app needs. I also like that you can turn a pipeline into a REST API using Hayhooks, including OpenAI-style chat endpoints, which makes it easier to plug into other apps. But it is not a simple “upload docs and done” knowledge base, and it can feel heavy if you just want something quick, because you have to design and maintain the pipeline yourself. Also, major version changes (like the move to 2.x) can bring breaking changes and migration work, so you need to plan for updates.
