After using Retool and comparing it with similar tools, my honest experience is mixed. On the positive side, Retool is very fast for building internal dashboards and admin panels, and connecting data from APIs and databases feels smooth once you get it set up it really speeds up development compared to coding everything yourself. However, it is not perfect: the learning curve can be steep if you don’t know JavaScript or SQL, and I found that without some technical background it was harder to unlock its full potential. Some parts of the tool also felt pricey for teams, and in larger, complex apps the editor interface can sometimes feel slow or a bit clunky. So while it’s a powerful choice for technical teams who want custom internal tools quickly, it may not be the best fit for every project or every user.
